About Second Stall

Second Stall is a blog about living with Crohn’s disease, depression and anxiety - not the brochure version, the real unfiltered truth.

The version that:

Shows up at work.
Follows you into public spaces.
Makes you manage anxiety, fatigue, and expectations while trying to live a normal life.

Why this exists

There’s plenty of information about Crohn’s disease.

What’s missing is space for:

  • embarrassment
  • mental load
  • invisible symptoms
  • the pressure to function anyway
  • the emotional cost of chronic illness

Second Stall exists to talk about that part — honestly, without pretending it’s inspiring or neat.

Who’s writing this

I’m someone living with Crohn’s disease, navigating work, relationships, anxiety, and daily life with a body that doesn’t always cooperate.

I’m not a doctor.
I don’t give medical advice.
Everything here is based on personal experience — what helped, what didn’t, and what I wish someone had told me sooner.

If something here resonates, that matters more than credentials.

What this site is — and isn’t

Second Stall is:

  • lived experience
  • reflection
  • coping strategies that helped me
  • reassurance you’re not imagining it

Second Stall is not:

  • medical advice
  • treatment guidance
  • a cure
  • toxic positivity

Always talk to your healthcare provider about medical decisions.
